We are Salem’s non-profit biodiesel co-operative! Biodiesel is a renewable fuel produced from used cooking oils or oilseed crops. It significantly reduces tailpipe emissions, in particular greenhouse gas carbon dioxides by 78%. Using biodiesel will create local employment, keep our dollars in Oregon, and reduce our dependence on foreign oil and exploration. It extends engine life by lubricating better than standard petroleum diesel and requires no or very little engine modification.
